Mijn naam is Emeron Lourens. Ik ben 31 jaar oud en ik woon in Zwolle.

Voor welke club speel je en wat zijn je posities?
Ik speel bij Quick Amersfoort. Ik ben zoals ze dat in de softbal wereld noemen een utility player. Ik speel alle posities.

Hoe ben je begonnen met softbal?
Ik heb altijd gehonkbald hiervoor. Daarna heb ik meegedaan aan een aantal slowpitch toernooien. Uiteindelijk werd ik uitgenodigd om mee te doen in een travel league, hierna ben ik eigenlijk nooit meer weggegaan van softbal.

Wat verwacht je van komend seizoen met het nationale team?
Ik verwacht niks. Ik weet dat we voor de volle pond gaan, we gaan altijd voor goud.

Wat is je leukste/speciaalste ervaring tot nu geweest in je carrière?
Ik sloeg de winnende homerun in mijn rookie jaar in de selectie. Hierdoor kwalificeerde wij ons voor het wereld kampioenschap.

Wat denk je dat de sleutel gaat zijn naar een succesvol seizoen?
Just work hard, try to be number one. En heel belangrijk: het blijft een spel dus plezier hebben!

For which club do you play and what are your positions?
I play for Quick Amersfoort. I am what they call a utility player. This means that I play all positions.

How did you start with softball?
I always played baseball before this. After that I played several slowpitch games. In the end I got invited to play in a Travel League. After playing in that league I actually never stopped with playing softball.

What are your expectations for coming season with the national team?
I don’t expect anything. I know that we are striving to be the best. We are working to win the gold medal.

What has been your best/most special experience so far?
I hit the winning homerun in my rookie year of the selection. This made sure that we qualified ourselves for the World Championship.

What do you think will be the key to a successful season?
Just work hard, try to be number one. And very important: it’s a game so have fun!
